UK tax authority issues 65,000 notices to crypto holders, 134% increase from previous year

HMRC has more than doubled its enforcement letters to suspected crypto tax evaders, with exchanges set to share detailed user activity with approximately 70 jurisdictions starting 2026 under new reporting requirements.
