Mastercard and Polygon Collaborate on New Crypto Transfer System

Mastercard has partnered with Polygon to develop a cryptocurrency transfer system featuring human-readable usernames, Coindesk reported on Nov. 18. The system leverages Mastercard's "crypto credential" technology for blockchain address verification. Identity verification and alias issuance will be managed by Mercuryo, enabling users to link aliases to self-custody wallets. Additionally, users can generate credential tokens on Polygon to demonstrate wallet verification and support credential-based transaction routing.
